Purps is psychedelic head bobbin background music. Perfect to talk over and when the conversation lulls, this music could possibly trigger the next topic to discuss.
This album is named Purps due to the fact that it was recorded in and around the purple room, which is a room in my basement that is painted purple. I created these songs by improvising a drum beat on my then recently acquired Gretsch jazz kit. This was recorded with one overhead mic into a Tascam CD – RW900SL professional CD recorder. I would then take that CD and place it into the right side ( the left side is shot ) of my trusty Phillips CDR775 Audio CD recorder, with double speed. Then I would run that into a mixer and the mixer back into the Tascam CD – RW90OSL professional CD recorder. Then I would overdub bass and repeat that process with guitar, vibes and other strange sounding instruments. Sound Crazy? It was. Did I go crazy in the process? I did. Please enjoy. Kw
